Today: “Perfect Love Drives Out Fear” • 1 John 4:11-18; John 3:14-17; Isaiah 43:1-7• We introduce a new sermon series today focusing on 1 John 4. We live in a world where fear abounds and seeks to rob us of our joy, our peace, and our hope. However, we serve a God who invites us to experience the power of His perfect love, declaring to us “perfect love drives out fear” (1 John 4:18). While fear may have a way of trying to set up shop in our lives, the perfect love of Jesus is powerful—it displaces the fear and gives it no room to grow. His love renews our joy and peace and hope. More than that, Jesus’ perfect love transforms our lives, forming us into a people with God’s gifts of joy, peace, and hope to share.
