The Prayer Shawl and Angel Ministries are a group of dedicated, generous crafters who give of their time and talents to create items that are knitted, crocheted or sewn, blessed by the one who made it and given to the one who is in need of prayer and comfort.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry first started in May 1997 in Hartford, Connecticut and the idea went global. We formed our ministry in March 2006 with four ladies and our first shawl. We have added many items to our list of creations and have grown to a group of 13. Our proudest endeavor came in 2009 when we created over 200 pillowcase dresses for children in South Africa, Cuba, Haiti, Costa Rica and Illinois. Our Angel creations are delivered to the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital, Hubbard House, and Harbor House.
We continue to add new and challenging ideas and encourage anyone who is looking for a new venture to volunteer their time and talents to come join us. We have much to offer in fellowship, hugs, and love.
