In his letter to the Ephesians, the Apostle Paul offers a prayer for all followers of Jesus that the Spirit would open the eyes of our hearts so that we would know the fullness of all God has granted us in Christ. As that prayer is continued later in his letter, we are reminded that God “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work in us.” How many times have you offered up prayers, only to find yourself doubting whether God will actually act? God reminds us through His word that He is not limited by even what we ourselves can think or imagine. How does this prayer change the world? God is powerfully at work in us, equipping us to be His agents of change in this world—just as He has done with Christ-followers of every time and place.
