Today in Worship “It’s Christmas: Are You In or Out?” – Isaiah 9:2-7, Luke 2:1-20 • There is no doubt that some people are more into Christmas than others. Your presence here tonight signals, at least on some level, that you are “in.” Christmas reveals just how “all in” God is for all His creation and for every soul. He does not hold back but sends His very Son to be the source of good news and great joy for all the people. Jesus’ coming signals that God’s redemption is real, His care is authentic, and God’s favor now rests upon us. Perhaps the most amazing thing is that Jesus came for all—that means, whoever you are, wherever you have been, whatever you have done, there is a place for you, and for me, and for all, in God’s kingdom. God’s Son who was given for all has secured us a place. Are you all in? Because there is no conceivable reason for you to be out—this is God’s grace for you.

Merry Christmas • We wish all a merry and blessed celebration of Jesus’ birth. May the joy of His coming fill you with joy, love, and peace throughout this upcoming year. We want to thank all those who are making our worship at Prince of Peace/Príncipe de Paz so special this Christmas: musicians, choir, worship planners and worship servants, those up front and those behind the scenes. Thank you and God bless you all!

Staff Appreciation Gifts—Thank You! • The staff at Prince of Peace would like to say thank you for the staff appreciation gifts received this Christmas season. We are humbled by the generosity of God’s people and thankful to God that we get to be a part of this vibrant community of faith. Thank you so much. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Week of December 18, 2022

Today in Worship “Ask for a Sign” – Isaiah 7:10-17, Matthew 1:18-25, Romans 1:1-7 • Through the Prophet Isaiah, the Lord gave the sign of the coming Messiah that would be born some 700 years later: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel”—and God’s word confirmed the fulfillment of that sign when the virgin Mary was carrying Jesus. His arrival signaled that God had really come to be with us to deliver people from their sins. We ask the Lord to lead us to see in His word the signs of His love. And ask him to lead us to see the role He has given us to signal to others that God has come for all people through Jesus, God with us. Our love becomes a sign pointing the way to Jesus’ love; our compassion as a sign of His compassion; our presence a sign of the gracious presence of our Lord that brings hope and peace.

Help us as we join You in the paths You have set us for us, that we would flourish and grow as we share Your good news.

Week of November 27, 2022

Advent: Practices to Prepare • In the church we set aside time in the weeks before Christmas to prepare for the coming of Christ—preparing to celebrate at Christmas Jesus’ first coming as well as preparing in these last days for His return in glory. We call this time of year, “Advent,” which means ‘coming.’ How will we prepare for the coming of our Savior and King? What practices ought we put into place? God’s Word leads the way.
November 27 – “Walk in His Ways” – Isaiah 2:1-5, Romans 13:8-14, Matthew 21:1-11 | The Lord draws us to Jesus to know Him as the way, the truth, and the life. He teaches us to walk in His ways so that we will walk the path of blessing and peace that He has set out for us—so that we walk in His light and can share that light with others.
Upcoming weeks:
December 4 – “Pray for New Life” – Isaiah 11:1-10, Romans 15:4-13, Matthew 3:1-12
December 11 – “Open Your Eyes” – Isaiah 35:1-10, James 5:7-11, Matthew 11:2-15
December 18 – “Ask for a Sign” – Isaiah 7:10-17, Romans 1:1-7, Matthew 1:18-25
