Message: “Shipwrecked—Rescued by Jesus” from Rev. Ken Green

We are celebrating how the Lord has blessed and shaped lives through our Shipwrecked—Rescued by Jesus Vacation Bible School this past week. Jesus absolutely is our Great Rescuer from sin, death and every peril. In God’s Word we hear another account of Jesus on the sea with His disciples. This time, Jesus is walking on the water. (Who does that?!?) Only Jesus, the One with authority over the wind and the waves. Peter then says, “Let me come out there, too.” But when Peter takes his eyes off of Jesus, he needs a quick rescue, and Jesus catches him. How much courage would it take to get out of the boat? Where do you need courage right now? How hard is it to keep eyes fixed upon Jesus when the wind and the waves come? Know that Jesus is holding you. Hang on and don’t let go.
