Perhaps it is all too seldom that we talk about the power that is ours as the body of Christ, the Church. We are called to a faith that is characterized by an incredible Christ-like love, that is lived out in mercy and compassion, but that in no way minimizes the power the Lord gives to Christ’s followers, “His incomparably great power for us who believe” (Ephesians 1:19). Power—that raised Jesus from the dead. Power—by which Jesus ascended into heaven. Power—as Jesus reigns over all. His power dwells in us by His Spirit. Joined to Christ, the head of the Church, how will you live as one filled with Christ and His power? As we confirm four young people today, are we ready to lead the way in being a living-demonstration of the power of Christ at work in our day and impacting generations to come?
It seems the one constant in our world is that things are always changing. Jesus, with power over even death itself, has the power to bring about the change we need. Our prayer is that in these weeks following Easter, people at Prince of Peace would experience the power of Jesus’ resurrection as never before, finding in Christ the change we all need.
