Jesus – A Sight to Behold!

On this First Sunday after Christmas the celebration continues! This Jesus is the One all creation has been longing to see to bring the Lord’s redemption and restoration. We have seen the baby in the manger, and today as Jesus is presented in the temple in Jerusalem we get to see the infant through the eyes of others: old-man Simeon and Anna the prophetess. Simeon and Anna have each seen the Messiah with their own two eyes, and nothing can keep either of them from telling others about it! God is at work and lives would be changed. Although we cannot go back in time to see Jesus, the Messiah, as a baby in the Jerusalem Temple, the Holy Spirit is at work in our lives connecting us with Jesus through His Word and the Sacraments. Jesus’ work in our lives is real. In what ways have you recognized God’s work in your life? How might you share the stories He has given you so that others get a picture of Jesus?
