Only Jesus could open the eyes of someone who was blind since birth—and doing so in the most earthy way, with dust and spit. With new-found sight, this man sees Jesus and bows before Him; He has laid eyes on the Savior, the Eye-Opener. All of us come into this world darkened with a spiritual blindness, and only through Jesus can we see the light, God’s love, His forgiveness, His life. Can you remember a time you stumbled in the darkness (literally or figuratively)? Who do you know that needs to be rescued from darkness with their eyes opened to the extreme grace and peace Jesus brings? On this LiveUCF Sunday, how might God use you and me to bring His light to those who attend the 2nd largest university in America?
During these Sundays in Lent (a time in the church where we prepare for the great Easter celebration of Jesus’ resurrection), we zero in on ways in which Jesus exerted His divine authority, spoke truth with vivid imagery, and changed our eternal destiny. As the One who is fully-God and fully-Man, He singlehandedly changed the course of human history. As we fix our eyes on Jesus, we ask the questions: What does this mean for me? And how do I share this with others so that they, too, are drawn to our victorious and loving Lord?
