Message: “Faith Alone” from Rev. Ken Green

Faith, quite simply, is to trust Jesus, what He has done for us, what He has promised us, and to hold to all that God’s Word delivers to us. Faith has been compared to open, yet empty hands that receive the gifts and blessings of Christ which God freely pours into them (Martin Luther). As God pours Christ’s forgiveness, life, and love into our hands, a powerful transformation takes place in us. As a result, we long to serve our neighbor with that same love, speaking Christ’s powerful Word of life so that all the world would know, by faith, what Jesus has done for them. “Faith is the ‘Yes’ of the heart, a conviction on which one stakes one’s life” (Luther). As the Spirit pours Christ’s love into you, how are you seeing that love transform you and the lives of others?
