“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17). These words speak to the new beginning each of us needs every day. And Easter Day is THE new beginning. Life after death. Hope over doubt and fear. Cancelled is the power of sin and death, and Jesus’ victory is now our victory. There is outright power and truth in this Resurrection–New Beginning thinking, yes? So then, what will tomorrow look like? We need Jesus’ Resurrection power every day. What then do we look like as a “new creation,” made to be in His likeness?
Why “New Beginnings”? The Resurrection of Christ is the New Beginning, and as people of the Resurrection, He desires that we start new every day. Resurrection… Transformation… Reformation… Repentance and Absolution… are all new beginning words, and all are applicable to the Lord’s people today. To resist new beginnings in His grace is to resist the future He has in store for us as His people. And so we pray, and seek, and long for His new beginning among us in this day, at this time, in this place.
