Message: “Creating Space for Hospitality” from Rev. Dr. Rick Armstrong

“Hospitality…means primarily the creation of a free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy. Hospitality is not to change people, but to offer them space where change can take place.” — Henri Nouwen The greatest act of hospitality happened when God sent His Son into this world, bridging the gap between God and people. In doing so, Jesus created space for us in God’s kingdom to be welcomed as beloved children. As Christ’s people in this world, then, we create space for others where, by God’s grace, they encounter the Lord and we ourselves gain “community.”  In our over-programed world, what would it take to create time and space for hospitality? How is God calling you to welcome people into your heart, and by so doing, creating space for them to discover Christ’s gracious reign?
