Christmas Stories Done Right

This message was recorded in the 7:30 pm Service of Joy on Christmas Eve 2014. We all have our favorite stories of Christmases past, times when we looked back and perhaps thought, “That Christmas was done right!” No Christmas can compare to that first Christmas: Mary and Joseph; a newborn placed in the manger; an angel herald; shepherds quaking; an angel arm singing God’s glory. Imagine that you are there and you are taking this all in for the first time. It is the most incredible night this world has ever experienced, for God’s Son has come to dwell among us. Even the shepherds recognize that everything is “just as they had been told.” This story is now a part of your life—in fact, it is life itself! What will that mean for you and me and for the whole world? In our lives, how will this become the Christmas story that is done just right? (And “who-you-gonna-tell?”)
