The Way…Christ alone. The Truth…Christ alone. The Life…Christ alone. We live in a world where seldom does one accept that there can only be one single way to do anything. As 21st Century followers of Jesus, how do we integrate God’s truth into our lives—and yet speak winsomely with all people about the life and salvation that comes through Christ alone? “After all, Christ must be everything: the beginning, the middle, and the end of our salvation. We must lay Him down as the first or foundation stone, rest the others and intermediate [stones] on Him, and also attach the rafters or the roof to Him” (Martin Luther). In what ways can you describe Christ as everything to you? How will you help others encounter Jesus, the way, the truth, and the life?
Our “Foundations” sermon series focuses on foundational truths for those who follow Jesus, looking at these phrases: “Scripture Alone,” “Grace Alone,” “Faith Alone,” “Christ Alone,” and “Glory be to God Alone.”
