The Lord is always in the process of bringing people closer to Him—drawing them from the outside to become “insiders,” under His reign and a part of His family. In the story of Ruth, a foreign woman introduced to the love of God, we see God at work grafting her into the family tree—and we get a glimpse of God’s plan for redeeming and drawing all people to Himself through the work of His one and only Son. Have you ever felt like an outsider? How has the Lord been at work in you to assure you that you have a place at His table? How has God used you to help someone else recognize that they are never outside the reach of His love, that through the Son of God He has created a place in His family where all can belong?
“The Story” is an abridged, chronological version of the Bible laid out in the format of a novel. It can help people get a better sense of the Bible as one continuous narrative of God’s love, centering ultimately on the redemption He has given through His Son.
