Who doesn't like a road trip...well, unless, it’s a trip where you’re walking and wandering for 40 years. Those 40 years wandering in the wilderness were filled with innumerable opportunities for God’s people (including Moses) to grow in trusting God, and countless opportunities to experience His forgiveness (and, boy, did God’s people need it). The LORD is gracious, in spite of the shortcomings and failings of His people, and He is unrelenting in His faithfulness to His promises. Times of “wandering in the wilderness” truly bring to light our need to rely upon the Lord. He does not forsake us as His people but invites us to trust Him, even pointing us to Jesus who is the fulfillment of all God’s promises and the forgiver of all our faults. Jesus is the one who leads us; He even gives us joy and hope in the midst of the journey.
“The Story” is an abridged, chronological version of the Bible laid out in the format of a novel. It can help people get a better sense of the Bible as one continuous narrative of God’s love, centering ultimately on the redemption He has given through His Son.
