People seem to be built with a natural curiosity about how things got their beginning and why things are the way they are. In chapter 1 of The Story, God reveals that He is the creator, and that—as originally designed—everything He made was “exceedingly good.” OK. So what happened? In the story of Adam and Eve and the fall, we get a sense of how “life as we know it” came to be: We are part of a fallen humanity. But, more than that, the Lord reveals in this chapter His true character as God, His undeserved love, His forgiveness, and His promise. As God has, in Christ, fulfilled His promise for you and all humanity, how does that change “life as we know it”? This week, with whom will you share this hope we have?
“The Story” is an abridged, chronological version of the Bible laid out in the format of a novel. It can help people get a better sense of the Bible as one continuous narrative of God’s love, centering ultimately on the redemption He has given through His Son.
