Message: “Ch. 25 – Jesus Messiah, Son of God” from Rev. Ken Green

Jesus was always crystal clear on who He was and why He had come. His mission as the Messiah, the Son of God, was definitive. Chapter 25 of The Story begins with Jesus engaging His disciples about who He is, and describing in plain language and great detail what would happen to Him as they will soon make their way toward Jerusalem. Later, on what we call Palm Sunday, Jesus and His disciples enter Jerusalem in such public fashion, He is acclaimed by the crowd’s words and actions as the Son of David, coming in the name of the Lord. He welcomes their praise through their shouts of Hosanna, or “Save Now!” And He most certainly has come to save in the most remarkable way: in being rejected by the religious leaders, killed, and rising in triumph on the third day. Today we acclaim Jesus as our King, the Messiah, the Son of God. What does it mean to you that you have been made His own and now “live under Him in His kingdom and serve Him in everlasting righteousness, innocence, and blessedness”?
