Ch. 19 - There's No Place Like Home

There’s no place like home, and nothing like that feeling you have when you get to go back home. “Home” is that place you grew up, or the place your parents and grandparents told you about, where they had their roots. There’s no place like home…except…home is not always the way you remembered it. The streets seem narrower. The houses and lots seem smaller. It’s not all as you remember it or as it was described to you. How this must have been for the people of Judah as they come home to Jerusalem after 70 years in exile—and how much more so as they see the Temple of the LORD lying in ruins. The LORD says: It’s time to rebuild! Time to be strong! Have no fear for it’s time to have courage! The LORD Almighty is with you, His Spirit remains among you, and He is your peace! How do these words of the LORD speak to you today? What needs rebuilding in your life? Where do you need to take courage? Call on the One who promises to strengthen you, for He is with you and His Spirit remains among you.
