The transformation in the lives of Jesus’ first followers was remarkable. Could anyone claim of Prince of Peace/Príncipe de Paz that “all the believers are one in heart and mind”? What would that look like? All it takes is the power of Jesus resurrection (i.e. the power to raise the dead) and the powerful work of the Spirit by grace (i.e. tremendous love). Do we have what it takes? The Good News: our Lord is the Resurrected One with power over all things, and His Spirit brings about growth in grace and knowledge of our Lord. As we each embrace those truths and the unity we have in Him, how will He transform us?
Why “New Beginnings”? The Resurrection of Christ is the New Beginning, and as people of the Resurrection, He desires that we start new every day. Resurrection… Transformation… Reformation… Repentance and Absolution… are all new beginning words, and all are applicable to the Lord’s people today. To resist new beginnings in His grace is to resist the future He has in store for us as His people. And so we pray, and seek, and long for His new beginning among us in this day, at this time, in this place.
