Bible Text: 1 John 2:1-6; Matthew 18:21-35 |

Forgiveness. Everyone who knows about Jesus should know about that. It is one of the cornerstones of the Christian faith. Through God’s undeserved love and Jesus’ perfect life—His death and resurrection—we are forgiven and set free! And yet, so many followers of Jesus struggle with forgiveness, whether that be forgiving oneself or being merciful toward others. Today, we get back to bedrock: We have a debt with God we could never repay; we are just like everyone else in that regard; and Jesus paid it all. What would the church be like—and how would it be perceived—if we just loved people and embraced people the way Jesus does? And how would we see ourselves through His eyes?
