“Do first things first and second things not at all” (Peter Drucker). Putting “first things first” is a matter of having our priorities straight. The Apostle Paul holds up the example of the churches in Macedonia. “They exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us” (2 Corinthians 8:5). That is to be the heartbeat of all who follow Jesus, giving oneself to the Lord first and foremost, our entire being; and then following wherever He leads. What would it look like if we exceeded all expectations in our walk with Christ? Every moment, every day is the right time to give ourselves first to the Lord, who gave Himself, His very life, first for us.
