Shipwrecked – VBS 2018

Throughout the week of June 11-15, 2018, kids will discover how Jesus rescues us throughout life’s storms! Shipwrecked is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences where kids see, hear, touch, and even taste! We’ll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life – something we call “God Sightings.” Get ready to hear that phrase a lot!

  • Castaway Sing & Play: Everyone gathers for fun songs, to learn the daily Bible Point, and meet the Daily Bible Memory Buddy;
  • KidVid Cinema: Kids will “meet” five kids who are using creativity, imagination, and other gifts God gave them;
  • Imagination Station: Where kids use Sciency-Fun Gizmos to experiment, explore and discover Bible truths in fascinating ways;
  • Ship Rec Games: Fun team-building games out on the lawn;
  • Tropical Treats: Kids actually make the snacks for the everyone to enjoy;
  • Bible Discovery: Where the Bible story is presented in a hands-on, unique setting each day;
  • Sail Away Sendoff: Kids will gather together again for fun-filled, audience-involved activities that will reinforce what they have learned. Parents are invited to come at 12:00 pm to watch and enjoy the fun.

To help supplement your child’s learning throughout the week, we recommend reading and reviewing the daily Bible Story Passages each night. Shipwrecked stories include:

  • When you’re lonely … Jesus rescues! Jesus tells parables about lost things. (Luke 15)
  • When you worry … Jesus rescues! Martha worries and complains. (Luke 10:38-42)
  • When you struggle … Jesus rescues! Jesus’ friends try to rescue Him in the garden of Gethsemane. (Luke 22:39-54, Matthew 26:36-56)
  • When you do wrong … Jesus rescues! Jesus welcomes a criminal before dying and coming back to life. (Luke 23:26—24:12)
  • When you’re powerless … Jesus rescues! Peter and John heal a lame man in Jesus’ name. (Acts 3:1-26)

We hope you will sign your child up for Shipwrecked VBS at Prince of Peace! Each day, VBS begins at 9:00 am. Children will be dismissed at 12:15 pm. Parents will be charged $25 per day if their child(ren) is not picked up on time.

Online Registration for VBS 2018 is now closed.

2018 Mission Project

This year, our VBS Mission Project will support the Flood Bucket Challenge in cooperation with the Florida-Georiga LCMS District and LCMS Disaster Relief Response program. Flood Buckets are sent to areas affected by flooding to aid in relief and cleanup efforts. Each bucket contains a devotional book, paper towels, glass cleaner, cleansing powder, liquid cleaner, bleach, a scrub brush, rubber gloves, and sponges. Our goal is to assemble one Flood Bucket per Crew.

Please bring donation items to Castaway Sing & Play or Sail Away Sendoff each day. Thank you for joining us in collecting these items to help the Florida-Georgia District assemble Flood Buckets!
