Sunday, February 3rd is our annual Souper Bowl of Caring event. This is a day when youth across the country do something in their own communities to alleviate hunger. Our youth will collect donations to benefit the Food Pantry right here at Prince of Peace.
Please put something in the “soup pot,” or perhaps even become a regular giver by marking your offering envelopes with a designated amount on an ongoing basis.
Last year our pantry distributed over 150,000 pounds of food (or, 125,310 meals). This outreach mission is only supported by those choosing to do so and not funded by the church budget. In 2018, our costs averaged $0.06 per pound of food. We purchase food from Second Harvest of Central Florida and some food is received through them at no cost at all. We also accept donations of non-perishable food items.
Many people here in Orlando are having difficulty feeding their families. Please help us keep the shelves full!
