The Prince of Peace Concert Series is excited to announce their final concert of the 2017-18 season: Orlando’s very own Jones High School Choir and Band!
Jones High School holds many prestigious honors, including participating in the Macy’s Day Parade. But two of its musical groups are now New York-bound once again! Jones is one of only three schools in the nation to have its wind ensemble and concert choir invited to perform at Carnegie Hall at the same time.
Band director Jamaal Nicholas and choral director Andrea Green were featured on the Ellen show in February amidst fundraising efforts for the New York trip. They needed to raise $200,000 but were just under half way there. In partnership with Walmart, the Ellen show presented Jones High School with a check for $100,000 to make sure they met their goal!
Fresh off of their trip to Carnegie Hall, Jones High School wind ensemble and concert choir will be performing a concert at Prince of Peace on Friday, May 4, 2018, at 7:00 PM. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged.
