Safety Measures

Advance registration is required for all Christmas Services.

Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the start of service.

Each Christmas Eve service will last approximately one hour. This will allow for ample time between services for cleaning and disinfecting of high touch surfaces.

Seating capacities have been reduced to allow for appropriate social distancing.

Temperature screenings are required for entry. Attendees will be required to undergo a temperature screening with no-touch thermometers before entry to the Sanctuary and Family Life Center. Based on guidance from health authorities, anyone displaying a temperature of 100.4º F or above will not be allowed entry; those in their party will not be allowed entry either. Before you leave home, be sure to check the temperatures of everyone in your party as an extra measure of precaution.

Face coverings are required for all people ages 2 years and up.  Based on guidance from local health officials, neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas, and face coverings with valves, mesh material, or holes of any kind are not acceptable.

All services will be paperless. There will be no worship bulletins distributed to the congregation. Rather, all songs, scripture, etc. will be displayed via projection.

Glow Sticks, Not Candles. Due to the potential health risk of extinguishing candles by blowing them out, all worship services will utilize glow sticks rather than candles this year.

Offerings Online or at the Door. To aid in social distancing and reduce cross-contamination, gifts, tithes, and offerings will be collected at the door or online at www.poporlando.com/give.

No Childcare/Nursery. Childcare services will not be provided during any of our Christmas services.

One of the most important things to the leaders of Prince of Peace/Príncipe de Paz has been to make wise choices out of love for our neighbor, minimizing the risk that our coming together for worship would be a point of community spread for COVID-19. These worship services are for individuals who are healthy, those who understand and accept the associated risks of gathering together.

Worship Service Options

Advance registration is required for all Christmas Services.

At 3:00 pm, 7:00 pm, and 11:00 pm we will offer English Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary. We celebrate the birth of Jesus in a classic, liturgical setting. The traditional services include the telling of the Christmas story with scripture readings and a Christmas message from Senior Pastor Ken Green. Music is led by the pipe organ, string quartet, and Parish Choir. Holy Communion will not be served at any of our Christmas Eve services this year to help maintain social distancing.

Worship en español at 5:00 pm in La víspera de Navidad. Celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with Christmas carols and beautiful hymns—all with a Latino flavor—and a meditation on God’s Word.

At 5:00 pm, we offer Contemporary Worship in the Family Life Center. This service celebrates the birth of Jesus in a casual, modern setting. Services include telling of the Christmas story with scripture readings and messages from Senior Pastor Ken Green and Director of Family & Youth Ministry Eric Gerken. Music is led by the Prince of Peace Worship Team, featuring special guest musicians including a string quartet. Holy Communion will not be served at any of our Christmas Eve services this year to help maintain social distancing.

Our 10:00 am Traditional Christmas Morning service celebrates the birth of Jesus in a classic, liturgical setting. This service includes the telling of the Christmas story with scripture readings and a Christmas message from Pastor David Ludwig. Music is led by the pipe organ. Holy Communion will be served on Christmas morning.

What about kids?

Children are certainly welcome to worship with their parents in all of our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services! For the health and safety of your children and our staff, Childcare/Nursery will not be offered during any of the worship services.

What should I wear?

Come as you are! Whether you wear comfy jeans, ugly Christmas sweaters (in Florida?), or your holiday best, you are welcome here. Please do wear a face mask!
